My raised flower bed for KBG plugs

I put seed down the same day as my reno 8/9 and so far so good. That’s despite a half-a$$ed approach. It sits on the back of the driveway next to my guinea pig’s play area. I block it off when I spray/ spread. All it takes is two passes with the Earthwise to keep it at 1.75”. Once roots are strong in the spring I plan on getting some plugs to fill in the Reno’s thinnest spots. Every other spoon feeding I put a few granules in there and water it in.

I have considered doing this and glad to see I'm not the only crazy one. Other thing I've considered given that draught and water restrictions this year totally derailed a planned full back yard reno....if same situation next year kill off 500 sq ft of my 3000sq feet back yard and then in spring kill off 250 sq ft and plug from said 500sq ft. No one will notice keeping 500sq ft damp in my back yard and spring even easier with mother nature's love. Rinse repeat if water restrictions come again. I can just move plugs as needed for damage in the front, but not looking to do anything heavy.

@SnootchieBootchies it would be a good idea if you have water restrictions. The last month or so, I’ve only watered it with a watering can and maybe 3 minutes with a hose end sprinkler. This is a 4’x4’ bed. More than enough to get a decent amount of fill in. I tried using those tear away brown cups, but couldn’t keep them moist enough.
