Good morning! A couple weeks ago I sprayed the lawn with Prodamine, mainly for the crabgrass we get. We also have chickweed, and a ABUNDANCE of wild onion and dead purple nettle (if the google picture I found is accurate). The nettle is still going strong. Would I be able to spray another round of something different? What would you all recommend?

Any 2,4-D product will take out onion, but their waxy and tough foliage does a good job preventing uptake. I usually step on the onion stalk first to break it and then spray it.

Chickweed and other "woody" type plants are level 2 weeds and should respond (ie- die) with and app or 2 or 3 of a triclopyr based product.

Labels generally recommend between a week or three between sprays.

I would use CCO (Triclopyr) on the purple nettle too. A fall preM should prevent it next year since it is a winter annual, but I''m not sure if prodiamine or dimension control it.

Lamium purpureum. Lamium purpureum, known as red dead-nettle, purple dead-nettle, red henbit, purple archangel, or velikdenche, is a herbaceous flowering plant native to Europe and Asia.
A quick search on Prodiamine label says it controls henbit. :|

I used SPEEZONE Weed Killer (2,4D+Dicamba) to get rid of my chickweed & clovers early in March prior to laying down my Prodiamine - & it was really effective.

https://www.domyown.com/msds/SpeedZoneLawnWeedKillerConcentrate-SL_label.pdf says it will get Deadnettle too.

Also - Dicamba is a bit controversial with some opposing farmers right now due to its great effectiveness but injurious to other plant life due to some drifting - so be careful with that.

I think anything you lay down post-emergent will have the warning about injury due to drifting.

Son of a gun, I'm back to the same problem I had last time...I can't figure out dosage to figure out how much I'll need how much what I'll mix

I have a 30 gallon pull behind tank and I figure I'll be have to use it on about an acre of the property. It's hard to tell because the nettles are primarily on the border of the property and on the hill sides.

LOL.. it does say

2 To control this weed, apply PRODIAMINE 65 WDG in late summer, fall, or winter before
weed seeds germinate.
Have you been doing Fall pre-em?

Broadcast Treatment of Ornamental Turf
Apply ½ to 1 quart per acre of Alligare Triclopyr 4 in enough water to provide uniform coverage
of the target area to control actively growing broadleaf weeds growing in perennial
bluegrass, perennial ryegrass, or tall fescue. Do not use on other turfgrass species (see Use
Precautions section of this label) unless injury can be tolerated. To minimize turf injury, do
not treat if turf is under heat-or drought-stress and make repeat applications at least 4 weeks
apart.
That how much to add per acre. Then amount of water normally is per your calibrated setup (ie. 1gallon/1ksqft). I'm not familiar with these qty of spraying. Make sure you use a surfactant.

PS I like the fixed wing instructions in the label.
