What fungicide and did you water it in or leave it on the leaf? What was your target pathogen?

Did you water it in? The fungicide penetrates the cuticle pretty fast, but if you spray it on the leaf and then mow it off, it won't be as effective. If you can water it in before mowing that would be ideal. Azoxystrobin is an acropetal penetrant, so it enters the tissue and moves upward in the plant.

Wouldn't the clippings that are mulched still have the same azoxystrobin on them they did while they were still attached to the plant? If so, wouldn't watering in have the same effect on getting the material into the soil?

 

@LawnNoob If the fungicide has been allowed to dry for an hour or two, a significant portion penetrated the cuticle and is now inside the leaf. When you mow the leaf off and water it, you are not removing the fungicide that was inside the leaf.
