I'm very new to this and have tons of questions....
As of now I am in a fertilization/insect/weed/grub program with a reputable company in my area and I am doing the mowing.
I've learned that mowing is extremely important. I've just learned the 1/3 rule.
I'm cutting at 4 inches on my fescue mix lawn in the Cincinnati 85-90 humid heat.
When I measure the length of the grass to determine when it's time to cut, it seems like I need to cut the grass every 2-3 days. Is this bad for the grass? I realize not mowing frequent enough is bad, but what about too frequently during summer? Shouldn't the growth slow down?
Maybe the fertilization program is making the grass grow, or I'm not getting all of the blades of grass cut when I mow so there are many grass blades that are left still tall?
Any suggestions?
