For those of you that started out with a McLane, trimmer, or Tru cut. When you finally bit the bullet and got a greens mower, did you get rid of it? If you did, did you regret it? Reason being, I don't know if I want to keep mine as a backup or just sell it. If I sell my McLane, it will go towards the purchase of a landscape blade.

I kept my Tru-Cut; it does a better job of scalping compared to my JD 220 and may well be the only reel that is capable of mowing the steep slope I have in my front yard.

With all the horror stories I've read about bending bedknives and reels, I would keep it as a backup. That's my plan anyways.

Get a neighbor hooked. Then, you can keep it as a spare and store it in their garage

I'd keep it, downtime is never great. Even if you buy a used greensmower it may take a few cuts to get it figured out or fixed.
