Hey! So I'm very new to lawncare in general but been trying to slowly educate myself. We've not long moved into our house and I'm unsure how to tackle the moss in my garden. The vast majority of my lawn seems to be moss and I was just wondering if you guys had any tips for someone who's new to this

Well most of us here would renovate that. It's not only a moss problem but I see lots of weeds and mixed grasses. If a renovation is not something you would be interested in...(or you can educate yourself on this site and do it this fall) but anyway they sell moss killers you cam apply, Iron also kills moss. Depending on where you live tho I'm not sure I would try anything at this point just live with it and plan your move for the fall. New grass doesn't do well in the summer.
If you wait until fall then you can figure out an irrigation plan as well. Even if you just kill the moss overseed with mesotrione app this would look a lot better...check out the cool season lawn guide on the site lots of info there

I have some similar issues on the northside of my house where the building/deck block too much sun. Now that the sun is at a higher angle, I raked a bunch of it out with my groundskeeper2 rake and will spoon feed liquid fertilizer to try and get it to fill in over the summer.

My advice is to understand the sun in that area. Normal advice to overseed in fall will not work in situations where the sun no longer shines enough to help it establish.
