Miracle Gro Spill..

Well, my wife was mixing up a bucket of Miracle gro (blue powder) for her garden. My dog managed to knock it over in the middle of my Bermuda yard. I wasn't home, and she didnt think to water the area heavily. So here I am expecting the worse.

Low and behold I now have a 3x3 area of my yard that is so dense and dark green its unreal. By FAR the best spot in my yard. I've had a soil test and it shows low in P, but nothing dramatic. Low in boron and zinc which MG contains. The test doesn't show nitrogen levels, but I put down nearly a lb of N every 4-6 weeks.

Am I dramatically underfeeding my yard? She uses quite the stiff mixture, so it was a HEAVY dose.

Also, I have pretty much an unlimited supply of Miracle Gro thanks to a family member. At what rate would you tank mix this stuff in a 4gal sprayer for 2k sq ft? Cause it's got me itching to try it out....

Thanks for any thoughts

Blue stuff is 24-8-16 and label says 1 tablespoon per gallon. So spilling a bucket is not a lot of fertilizer. You can use it in your lawn, but put no more than 0.25 # N/M. In other words putting 1 pound of this over 1000 sq feet is okay.

If you can get it free go for it. Mix 2# with 2G of water for 2k. Better if you use 4G of water to prevent leaf tip burn.

Thanks for the mixing tips. Only used granular to this point.

But, my wife doesnt measure the MG. I checked the package and it was 1/2 of one of those 4 packets. So she used approx .75lbs of blue powder in that bucket
