Common recommendations are to dial back the N in the hot months, yet following milo's plan (on the bag) they have you doing an app on July 4th. I know quick release synthetic ferts are more risky here since they really push growth, but milo is roughly half quick release (water soluble), too.

So does milo get a pass here since bag rate would be only 0.36 lb N/M of quick release? Or is it still better to hold off until temps start backing down in late August?

Milo is safer than synthetic fertilizers but still needs to be used with common sense. Every lawn is different including your location, water requirements, etc. I have used Milo extensively this spring and I think it's great. However, I'm starting to dial back because of hot temps and a touch of dollar spot. Have also noticed that the lawn is loosing some of the green color - probably needs more water - I do water the lawn but don't really feel light paying these crazy high water bills either. It's a judgement call if you want to keep throwing more N at the lawn - especially when the lawn may be slowing down.
