When I first saw the title I thought you were going to do a small putting green of bermuda. :D

That would be a negative on the microgreen for me.

Somewhat tangent to your question, but if you're into growing stuff and healthy eating, also take a look at growing oyster mushrooms. They're easy to grow on wheat straw or fuel pellets/sawdust.

5 gallon bucket of straw.

Anyone into microgreens?
I try growing them off and on. Usually a mesclun mix. I never grow enough for a steady supply of salads and then what comes up will start getting weeds mixed in.

I've had great luck with kale. I can't out-eat four plants all summer tucked into a shady part of the garden.

This year, I did six plants with more sun. They grow well but not fast enough in the summer.

Now THAT looks interesting... got a how-to link?
I got multiple. First one is the most basic using a commercial mushroom kit to inoculate the straw. A good video to learn the basics, but not sustainable long term as the kits cost a lot of money. You would use grain spawn instead.

Second one is the same operation but on a bit larger scale. Same principles, but a executed a little differently. This uses grain spawn.

Blue oyster spawn can be bought here: http://freshcapmushrooms.com/store/
Once you have the spawn to start, you can make your own going forward.

Sure, they're very tasty. They typically sell for about $15/lb retail so they're up there with shiitake mushrooms. People make small businesses out of growing and selling oyster mushrooms because the cost is so low and it's so easy to do.

Now magic mushrooms, they can go for $1,200 a pound, same procedure but not exactly legal :)
