I flew to Vegas for the weekend for my birthday. The attached Meyers Zoysia Advertisement was in the airline magazine. I thought some of you might find it funny. Mow once or twice a season and hardly ever water...

Well, in fairness, Dchall used to let his St Augustine go unmowed all year and he applied no supplemental irrigation. Granted it reached something like 25" tall, but I guess it is possible. For anyone wanting to have a "normal" lawn, this is pure ridiculousness.

These ads never mention how the grass will stay dormant for over half the year unless it is grown in the extreme South. Other things not mentioned are the susceptibility to nematodes and Large Patch. Starving it to reduce susceptibility to the above two conditions then makes it prone to Dollar Spot. Then there is no discussion about how hard it is to mow. I think Zoysia needs to come with a warning label.
