FIrst time overseeding Rye on my Bermuda lawn last fall, looked amazing up until I scalped it 3 weeks ago. I was assuming the bermuda would come in pretty quick with a quick release I had snowed it with and after 3 weeks it's still so patchy, however there seems to be a massive amount of thatch left over from the Rye competing with the bermuda. Do you guys verticut/dethatch after killing the Rye out or what is your method to getting your bermuda up to par? Thanks.

I sprayed mine out with two rounds of MSM Turf beginning in early March - before I did my spring scalp/verticut/scarify. More details beginning here. We're getting pretty deep into the season to still have rye competing with the bermuda - I would recommend spraying it. This is what mine looked like about a week and a half ago...

Nope, the Rye has been done for 3 weeks, we're talking a half an inch of thatch from the dead Rye. I sprayed Sulfosulfuron to get my kill and It's like a sponge! It's storming now but I'll try to get some pics later today.

Does it look as if the PRG went dormant? I see that appearance a lot around here when the rye grass is left to just die off on its own.
