@jdmcquerry Any chance when you put in your zipcode greencast dumps out some completely incorrect location? When I put in my zip I get a city in Finland. I have to double check against some nearby towns to make sure I’m getting the right numbers.

@supa I can't login to Greencast. I created my account, got my welcome email and the first time I tried to get in it locked me out. No responses from their support team either, so I just use the generic tracker.

For base temp on Greencast I use 0°C, because that's apparently what one should use for cold season grass. I'm not certain what littlleaf uses, as I don't recall an option for base temp, however he stated on this forum that anything with a base of 400 GDD was automatically assumed to be cool season turf.

All that being said, I'm basing my applications on both the cool season and the warm season PGR threads, and it looks like 2 weeks is a happy rotation with my minimal app rates.

I definitely appreciate only mowing once a week, but I can see some minor rebound happening now (I'm at almost 3 weeks due to rain). I'm applying tonight fo shizzle!
That's very odd with the lockout. I think from what I saw Greencast was using zip code temperature and LittleLeaf may be using closest NWS station? Unsure.

Thanks!! I haven't really done anything with it, it's so resilient! There are some spots of weeds but it all stays green, so I'm good with it. All from 6500 plugs put down in 2007, lol.

Usually the 2nd frost sends it into dormancy. I was mowing late into December last year. This was the first year I ran scarifier over it, scalped it, and had green up in March.

My soil reports came back and just like everyone else's, I need to apply lime. Quite a bit of it, so I took the opportunity to grab this 100lb spreader while it was on sale. If it falls apart after the lime is put down (around 1300 pounds), at least I won't ruin my "good" spreader.

Spot sprayed Toxicity @ 1 tsp/2 gallons. Focused on the buttonweed and anything else I saw that I didn't like. Blanket sprayed beside the greenhouse due to an abundance of crabgrass that's migrating from the mill yard.

I need to do a better job of keeping the mower out of the weeds to avoid transferring all the weed seeds.

Blanket sprayed glypho on the mill yard and the perimeter of the woods where the buttonweed is thriving. Plan is to heavily seed K31 back there and try minimal/no irrigation starting in spring. Right now there are piles of wood and debris which are too easily full of copperheads to do any real cleanup. Had to many of them in my hands over the last few years to feel like pushing that envelope this year lol!

Haven't mowed the back yard in a week and it looks a little shaggy but not bad. Leaving town for a week and I'm gonna let it go. Got irrigation set up so the wife doesn't have to bother with my hobby while I'm away.

Obligatory photo:

JULY SUMMARY:

Temps ranging from 67.6 to 103.2, with an average of 81.5°F.

Precip: 9.35 inches, pretty even spread over the 4 weeks of July with about 2½" a week.

Obviously the rain doesn't make up for the heat/humidity. I don't know if I have/had fungus - I'm never able to get out there early enough to check. Any fine fescue that was growing in June is dead/dormant now. There is brown all over, not a crazy amount, but you can tell the grass is feeling the pressure from the heat.

Only mowed the back 3 times in July - and haven't applied any herbicides, fungicides, PGR, etc. It's just conserving its energy.

Mowed the front at 2" and the back at 3" with the riding mower.

Debating going back to the reel mower for the front but the yard is SO green and lush at this HOC - the back yard is stressed and sad, but living still - and i THINK we've made it thru the worst of summer.

A week of low-mid 80s beginning on August 2 (8/3 was 63° at 7 am, I almost had to put on a hoodie!)

I bought one of the Big League Lawns striping kits for about $500ish after tax/shipping and installed it Saturday morning. The lawn is so stressed from heat I really cant tell if it does much. Well, the back yard looks like crap, but i CAN tell that it took the stripes. My verdict is still not made - the rollers are 48 inches wide, and i REALLY liked the fat | skinny | fat stripes, so time will tell if this thing goes on the marketplace.

No more PGR on the back this year - I'm planning a heavy overseed and even HEAVIER seeding in some of the spots that didn't take, after I amend the soil in those spots. Really bummed I won't be able to do a fall pre-emergent....

Applied the following cocktails:

Front yard:
T-Nex: 1 oz
Azoxy: 2 oz
Liquid Iron: 22 oz (leftover bottle from last app)
Main Event: 5 oz
Bifenthrin: 3 oz

Back Yard:
Azoxy: 3 oz
Main event: 8 oz
Bifenthrin: 4 oz

(I'll edit this post with a photo after work)
