So I've read a ton on these threads about leveling with sand and what not. But what about high spots? I have a couple of areas in my lawn with humps that are higher than the rest of the lawn. Some are like 3x4ft... What is the best plan of attack here? Just use a shovel and dig the hump out then let grass fill back in on its own? Thanks.

Depending on the severity of the "hump" you could cut the sod out of the area and remove the dirt underneath and then lay the sod back down on the level surface. You could gradually remove dirt from the area with a verticutter or aerator over the course of a season or two. Or, you cold bring the level of the lawn up to the level of the high area.

I had a good experience using a half moon edger to cut a fairly large X in the turf. Peel back the turf from the middle of the X then remove enough soil to remove the bump, before putting the turf back again, really press the cuts together sprinkle the seams with some of the soil and put down a little bit more seed and water in well.

That's not a bad idea! Thanks

+1 - minus the sprinkling of seed.
