Level Now or Wait?

Hey all!
I have my leveling sand waiting in bags to get laid down, but the weather is weird this weekend cool and lots of rain. Should I wait to level until next week to avoid a washout of the sand since the grass probably won't be growing very fast over the next 2 days?

I'm in the same boat as you (rock hill sc). I was going to do my yard this weekend but I am going to hold off a week due to the temp and rain. The weather has been crazy this year.

Right?! What is happening lol Good to know! I think we're both thinking the same thing. I'd hate for the dirt just to wash out. Probably going to be doing the same. Thanks!
I don’t plan for it to actually rain unless the chance is 60% or higher. You have 70-80% chance. I would wait, too.

Hmm. Cooler temps during the labor, followed by free water and then higher temps? Sounds ideal to me.

Yeah I thought about this, it’s honestly ideal for the temps/rain, but my property has a decent slope so I’m worried if we get too much it may create some issues. Been going back and forth! Last weekend it had this high of chance it rained for 5 days straight. CLT weather all over the place this year
I am in Northeast GA and I am going to core aerate and sand level this long weekend. As of now, only a 48% chance of rain on Sunday. Locked and loaded and ready to go.

I don’t think 2 days of temps in the 60s across the Carolinas will make much of a difference other than slowing it down for a little, but temps shoot back up quick as we get into next week. So things should bounce back fast. My bigger concern from a leveling standpoint would be more about the heavy rains than the temps. A little rain would be one thing, but several inches in a couple day timeframe (below is projections thru Mon evening) would make me hesitant.

I think if you can get it done before the rain gets here you will be good to go. Trust me, it's much nicer to do it in these cooler temps than wait for next week when it's hot and humid outside. I think most of the rain we are suppose to get is just going to be a steady all day rain so hopefully you don't get any heavy downpours that would wash some of it away but that is also the nature of the beast when it comes to sand leveling. You can't beat free water to help settle all the sand down into the grass.

Yeah knowing the Carolina weather predictions, I decided to hold off. Trying to get it down once most of this comes over on Monday. Temps should still be on the comfortable side, but didn't want to risk a huge downpour after putting in all that work lol

I didn't get it in time because of my hesitation lol Hear you on the temps. Hopefully Monday I can get it all down in still somewhat lower temps. Thanks!
Yeah, it looks like the temps don't really get hot until the end of the week.
