I was wondering if anyone has used the Lesco Pre-M Aquacap liquid herbicide and could vouch for its performance. Other suggestions are welcome also.

I am slowly getting away from granular products and found the LESCO Pre-M Aquacap Pre Emergent Liquid Herbicide available at Site One and was considering its use. I have always purchased the granular pre-emergent from Site One but have never really been satisfied.

Any other successes for products you guys use for pre-emergents is appreciated.

Pendimethalin in early Fall. I save the Prodiamine for use in the Spring for the crabgrass since it has long residual
I could try that. I don't know if my issue with my Fall application is "I put it on too late" but I usually only have issues with weeds in the Spring. But I cut, spray herbicides and fertilize quite often during the growing season. In the Spring, my lawn always wakes up to major weeds all over. Poa and Rescuegrass are the worst, but I will also have clover, henbit, thistle, etc... I have already sprayed once with some 2-4D and put a huge dent in the weeds. I tried some MSMA on the rescuegrass.... that didn't do anything so I hit it with Certainty. Still waiting on that to kick in. Thanks for the advise.
Pendimethalin is a stronger root pruner vs Prodiamine.

What weeds trouble you the most?
Poa and Rescuegrass. Both annual winter grass'. But like I say above my lawn wakes up from the winter with various weeds.
I can not over emphasize enough the importance of using/rotating at least 2 different pre-emergents (better yet, 3) on your turf. Just makes a huge noticeable difference compared to only using one pre-emergent. My opinion

Btw - good choice moving away from granular & switching to liquid pre-E
(y) I will keep that in mind. I really seem to have the problem in the early Spring. Both the poa and Rescuegrass will die in our TX heat, but I just hate the weeds. I'm moving over to spraying as I believe I can make more accurate applications.

I had issues with POA when I was just on Prodiamine, once I added a half rate of Simazine in October with the Prodiamine and applied the other half rate of Simazine in January by itself, the POA has been eradicated.

I have read somewhere that some POA has developed a resistance to Prodiamine in some areas of the USA.

If you have more trouble in the fall/winter. Adding an additional product like simazine will increase prevention performance.

Appreciate the help guys!!! I will purchase some Simazine for my Fall and Winter applications. My neighbor who pays for his weed control and fertilizer services doesn't have weeds so I hope to be able to replicate.

Hi - I just signed up here after searching for more information about Lesco pre-emergent. I live in the mountains outside of Santa Fe, New Mexico. My yard (which was historically a meadow of buffalo grass, gramma grass, and various wild flowers) has been taken over by foxtail grass after we replaced our septic leach field. I tried in vain to control the foxtails manually, but I have to admit defeat.

I am now considering applying an herbicide and a landscaping company suggested Lesco Prosecutor and Lesco Pre-m aquacap.

I am hoping to reseed the area (about 1,500 sq. feet) with native grasses and wildflowers. My question is: how long does the preemergent last? When will I be able to reseed?

Thanks for all your help!

Dan
