hello,

I am in Maryland and have a lawn that is about 5 yrs old - grass type unknown. Of note I am a complete newbie when it comes to maintaining a lawn.

Around memorial day - I put down some milorganite in my front yard based on a recommendation. Then about a week later I spot treated areas of white clover with Ortho weed b gone. Now about a month later, my lawn looks like the pictures attached here. The clover is gone but the treated area now has patches of dark green grass in my lawn ( I believe this is my original lawn grass as it looks like real grass and matches my neighbors grass). The rest of the lawn is light green and starting to think that its some sort of weed that is taking over the lawn.

Any help would be much appreciated? thank you

I spot treated with Ortho Weed B Gon - those areas are now dark green....so yes I suspect it probably did kill the lime green stuff in those patches.

yes the whole front yard got a healthy does of milorganite..thanks

So, did you apply a pre emergent in the spring? It is used to prevent crabgrass from growing now in the summer.

Did the wbg you used also treats crabgrass?

You will need to blanket treat the yard with wbg + crabgrass. Check the label for temperature limits.

No I did not apply a pre-emergent in the spring? What is the recommended brand or product so I apply it next summer?

yes the wbg I used treats crabgrass.

so is the lime green stuff - crabgrass? I am just worried if I treat the whole yard...its going to look pretty barren but I guess I don't have a choice...

thanks for the advice
