Killing My TTTF

I have been through this...see my thread; and lots of pix over time. Hope it helps you.

Here is your 2-3 year adventure iteneray :)

Executive Summary: MY TTTF NEVER looked better than today.

From experience,
I'd kill everything NOW, dethatch as best you can, don't use Gly after August 15, and reseed around Sept 7. Use a 10-20-20 to promote strong new roots, and use Tenacity at the time of seeding to keep weed competition at bay. .....by early winter you should have a decent but not pristine yard...patience.

Then prodamine Pre E with a 20-0-5 in early spring when the forsythia bloom or soil hits +50F...But guaranteed....the Bermuda will return early summer 2026. Beginning mid-late spring 2026, you'll need to follow something like from the article below for next summer to keep the Bermuda out.

Per article: I used Meso/Fusilade/Ester, in spring and Pylex/Fusilade/Ester in late summer 2024.
Every 21 days in late spring, then stop for the heat of the summer, then again in late summer every 21 days.

Use Pylex (or Tenacity) for last early fall Bermuda killing application before reseeding again around Sept 1.
Either one (Pylex/Tenacity) you can reseed the same day as the application. Pylex is $$$$$ big bucks.

Have to be patient. I tried it and it works. My Bermuda is 10% of what it was last year and I have not used any of these treatments YET....but I will start tomorrow. :)

Read this article, very useful, several cocktail options:

Selective Bermudagrass Control for Lawns
Authored by Shawn Askew, Professor and Extension Turfgrass Weed Specialist, Mike Goatley Jr. Professor and Extension Turfgrass Specialist, Whitnee Askew, Turfgrass Program Manager, School of Plant and Environmental Sciences, Virginia Tech

IT WORKED FOR ME....

I would spray probably 3 times prior to reno. And even then, the Bermuda will come back. So, prepare yourself for that.
You will think you are in the clear come April 2026 but will see Bermuda again in June and July. This is when you start attacking with Pylex/Impact.
I am killing off an area of my yard currently as well. I sprayed a week ago. Will spray every other weekend until seed down mid-September.
Agree. I didn't see any Bermuda till about 3-4 weeks ago after last years Bermuda Beat Down....but it's back now :(
