Hi all, happy new year to ya. Believe it or not, my lawn is already beginning to grow like crazy, which brings me to an issue I have had for years, creeping bentgrass. Thanks to many forum members for pointing me in the direction of a supplier who will ship tenacity to Canada, as I feel like this will be the end of my problems.

What I am wondering today, is when should this product be applied? It doesn't look like the bentgrass is itself actively growing yet, but was wondering if anyone had some info on needed conditions for its growth, ie soil temps etc to help assist me in killing this beast.

Thank you for your time,

-Rob

I have found some great info on http://www.grounds-mag.com/mag/grounds_maintenance_help_bentgrass_beat/

stating "Creeping bentgrass is a cool-season grass that prefers air temperatures between 60 and 75 degrees (F) and soil temperatures between 50 and 65 degrees (F)."

If anyone else has info to add thats great, but for now I think I have found my answers.

Take care
-Rob

I think I share this one before. http://www.golfdom.com/improve-the-efficacy-of-tenacity-for-creeping-bentgrass-control/

tl;dr
1oz ai/acre rate every 2 weeks for 3 apps using non-ionic surfactant

One thing to consider, if the area with bentgrass is large, what will you do bare dirt during the summer after the bentgrass dies?

Hes so far north he can probably plant seed during summer if watered properly.
Google says it averages int he low 20C region as a high during summer.

I used Tenacity to kill bentgrass last year. It works great but my only gripe is that it turns those spots white and they stay that way for well over a month. If you spray it in April you may be stuck with a spotty white lawn during the growing season.
