The roots from that tree stretch well beyond the tree ring.Even if you tried to let it fill in tight to the tree it wouldn’t look good or thrive. The roots of the tree will suck too many nutrients from your soil and not leave any for the grass. That’s the whole reason for tree rings and is why 95% of the time grass is very thin and unhealthy directly around trees
Correct. But as you get closer to the base of the tree, there will be less and less nutrients available for other plant life. They draw their nutrients through the path of least resistance, closer is always easier than farther.The roots from that tree stretch well beyond the tree ring.
