This question is just based on observation... There are certain parts of my yard and then neighbors that have U3, at best, and some have some fairly fine blades. We have an elderly woman in the neighborhood that has very fine bermuda blades, but she says it's what everyone else's variety is, which is what was laid when the homes were built. Has anyone else noticed this type of thing?

I have this issue.... it has more to due with the sod farm and the builder not caring much about having an exclusive cultivar of Bermuda in the "builders grade" sod.
Interesting. Yeah I've always wondered. That elderly lady I spoke about, her entire yard looks like a super fine tif... It's crazy

They wont blend. If it is Common mixed with a hybrid, depends on which is better adapted to the site conditions. I have seen Common eat up a 419 lawn, but surrender to a Tifgrand or Celebration lawn. Another issue is that Common is rather resistant to the effect of PGR. What you need to control Common is too much for most hybrids. If it were me, I would PGR to get the hybrid short, then go over the Common with RoundUp on a wiper.
