Considering several of the members here have immaculate lawns, I figured I'd reach out to you for some help. The condition of my lawn is pretty sad right now. I nuked the carpetgrass that I thought was centipede when I applied Celsius. About 3/4 of my front yard is dead, and some of the green kyllinga met the same fate when I applied Dismiss, painting even more of the front space into a burnt sienna color
That being said, I've got some really low spots throughout the yard; I'm talking inches lower than some of them, with areas about 4'x10' that are lower than the rest. It's really undulating throughout the whole majority of the larger portion, which is about 3,500 ft². The other portion of my lawn is about 1,500 ft².
I've weighed the options of getting a LOT of sand, and then slaving through the hot GA sun to work to level the areas that are barren, and then getting some seed down, covered with peat moss. Last "winter" we had weather that was in the 40°F range for 1 week. It was in the 80's on Christmas Day. I think it would be safe to say that I could easily germinate some bermuda seed before the "winter" set in.
I have a good stand of bermuda(cultivar unknown) that is actively growing near my driveway, and spreading vigorously, as well as some that's popping up in areas of the carpetgrass that are now dead. I had some sand left over from when they installed my pool, but I'm going to need a LOT more to level the area out.
What are your suggestions? I can budget about $300 for this right now. Wife and I are having our 20th anniversary next month, and she comes before the lawn
