Just received a quart (hose end sprayer) of Hydretain and wondering what the proper application rate is if I use my backpack sprayer instead of the hose end sprayer it came with. Ive heard some bad things about the hose end sprayers so I want better control when applying it. The label on the back of the quart says 9oz per 1k and covers 3500 sqft, but on the front label at the bottom it says 1 quart treats up to 5000 sqft. Which is it? Is there a high and low rate for this stuff? I have a 3400 sqft BermudaGrass lawn, should I just mix the entire quart with 4 gallons of water and send it in my backpack sprayer?
Im located in Central Texas and temps are going to be hitting triple digits the next few days and probably weeks, is now still a good time to apply? Dont know if it has to be applied in certain temps or if it will burn. From what Ive read, it sounds like if you wet the turf before applying and then water in immediately after and also the following day, there shouldnt be any issues.
And last question.. I leveled my lawn 3 weeks ago and went pretty heavy in certain areas so I still have some sandy areas where the grass hasnt fully came back through, but about 85-90% of the lawn has. Is it ok to apply in these conditions or should I wait till the lawn has 100% recovered from the leveling?
