I came across this article related to a local college here in Atlanta. Recently, they updated their field with "PlayMaster" branded hybrid turf, installed by a local turf company. What I found interesting is that the benefits are listed as "fast installation, instant playability and a natural-grass feel. The divot-free surface provides stability that helps maintain the field's quality and safety." What is even more crazy, this hybrid grass-turf was "grown" in Braselton by the installer. The way I read this, it is essentially a cross between artificial turf/normal sod installation. Pretty crazy!
