I bought some 16 4-8 fertilizer with prodamine. The instructions give a maximum annual application amount of 8.9 lb. But they don't tell me how much to put down per application. I put down four and a half pounds per thousand square feet so I could put down a second application in August. Will this be enough pre-emergent to keep new weeds from coming up?

I'd have to know a little more about the product but it sounds like this is the max rate of Prodiamine. Supposed to be sufficient for year-round coverage, but I always like to re-up in the south zone in November on Thanksgiving with a pre-emergent app for the winter.

8.9lbs per 1k? Or total?

It looks like you have over 10k sq ft.

@daganh62 Based on what you have said If I were you I'd probably shoot for half the yearly max rate now and the other half in octoberish.
