I have some areas with broadleaf weeds I want to use a 3-way on but they also have clover which I'm going to use triclopyr on. How long should I wait between the two apps? Or could they even be combined?

It's regular weed b gon and weed b gon cco that I want to use.

It's a little tricky when there's clover that you want to reduce or get rid of, because some three-ways burn clover. If it's burnt, you won't be able to work the Triclopyr on it until it recovers. I don't have the answer as to best strategy in that case, other than different herbicides on different areas. Not sure about if there's clover everywhere. Maybe someone else has a solution.

In those cases I normally skip the 3way and just use the triclopyr. Why? If i need to use CCO, it it because it is a tough weed and I want to get a head start on it. The triclopyr also works on some broadleaf weeds.

To answer the question, it can be combined, but be careful of amine and esters combined. For 5k, lawn it is not worth the trouble.

This is great advise. I would certainly apply the trilopyr first and see where you are in 1-3 weeks.

g-man,

Are you saying its not worth the trouble/risk to combine them since the lawn is "only" 5k? I have Speedzone and thought about spiking it with CCO, for ease of use (so I can hit all weeds with the same mix). But always read on the other forum its risky. Guess I could always keep a seperate small hand-held sprayer with just CCO in it. ?

Speedzone actually kills a lot of the weeds CCO does. I would be using that if I didn't already have a stockpile of other stuff.
