This is the first time I've used it, and I applied it to the area in the back yard. It's approaching 4 weeks since I put it down, and last mow, I had seed heads popping up. Good thing is that the density is increasing greatly, and I've noticed pretty vigorous lateral growth.

We're still in the high 80's (heat index yesterday was 96°F), and it won't start getting cooler for a couple of weeks. How late in the growing season can I apply PGR?

Late in the season when the mowing frequency slows naturally, I'll stop. Also keep in mind the label has a provision for split apps at half rate, so you can essentially tune your regulation down to a 1-2 week window.

Thanks buddy. I was wondering if it would have been ok to put PGR on the new renovation once it looked like I was getting some lateral growth. The crabgrass is growing much faster than the grass at this stage, and I know it might be a month before it finally gets cold enough to die off. At least with PGR it might slow the growth some where it doesn't stick out above the mower lawn a day after I cut it. It's pretty easy to find the plants to pluck by hand at this stage, but there's a lot of it.
