Hello-
Do you guys know the best time here in northern Virginia (Zone 7) to apply Scotts Grub-Ex (“season-long control”) ? I do not like to apply too early, or worse- too late.
Thanks!

I believe your local extension office can help you. They may track growing degree days for the insect’s lifecycle so they know when to apply what.

Otherwise, Mich State says “Apply between April 1 and May 30 (no later than July 15) for best results.”
Agreed. Anytime from April to May should work.

Mid-May to early July.
From MSU

Chlorantraniliprole can be applied as early as April and up to mid-July. This chemical consistently reduced grub numbers by about 65-80% and research has shown that applications made before June are more efficacious than June or July application.
I don't know what research is referred to, but I would not wait until July.

Thanks ! I put down that Scotts Grub-Ex in mid-April and will re-apply in early June. Scotts claims that it lasts 4 months.
