Yes. Though I personally would not. Some of the herbicide from the big box have directions for hose end sprayer

The label list a spray volume of 3 - 220 gallons / acre. Ortho puts out around 2 gallons per minute on a 60 psi residential pump. U need 4.5 oz for your 3k lawn. Set the dial to .5 oz and spend 6 minutes spraying.
