Good Afternoon,

I recently moved into a new home and with the snow melting I'm seeing a lot of grassy weeds. I could use some help properly identifying before hopefully heading over to DoMyOwn and finding a selective herbicide that will solve the issue.

Lawn - Mix of rye, KBG, and other fescues. Zone = 6B, Southeastern PA.

I just put down this Crabgrass control with .37 prodiamine @ 5lbs/1000sq ft.

I think you identified them correctly as grassy weeds. The problem with grassy weeds is that there is no selective herbicides for most of them. Only careful painting them with round up is the control method.

There are websites now (DoMyOWn) among others that I have found that offer commercial, selective pesticides that sod farms, golf courses, and lawn care companies use.

There seems to be selective herbicides for almost every weed out there, I'm just struggling to find the correct one for quackgrass in cool season grasses.

There is only one herbicide that was labeled for quackgrass. The label was updated to remove it. The margin of error between suppressing quack and killing your yard is very small. Careful painting of round up works. I used round up to kill the quack I had in my yard.
