Gray leaf spot is more widespread than most believe

I want to start an ongoing discussion about gray leaf spot. I work in the turf industy (not here to promote anything) and I think gray leaf spot is becoming a serious problem for fescue and is sliding under everyones radar. I think it is more widespread than most would believe. I think it has been misdiagnosed for years. I think conventional treatments are ineffective at both preventing and curing gls. For the most part - all university research says the same thing about gls as does this forum.."azoxy or prop" "rotate every x days". Anyone step outside the box? First or second hand experience??

Curious what you see as a good way to prevent or treat, as I deal with GLS every year and use azoxy & prop and seems to keep it in check but doesn't work at preventing it.
I rotate in T-Methyl for GLS. And I agree with you on it being a common disease, especially late summer. It has taken out portions of my turf that otherwise did well, until late August/early Sept rolled around.
Silica on St Aug has been found to help protect against GLS.
I think it has been misdiagnosed for years.
You are in the wrong place. Plenty of people here post pics speculating they have "leaf spot" if they see a lesion on a single grass blade and if the margin of the lesion looks a little gray then they think it's "gray leaf spot". On this board at least, it's over diagnosed.

I have first hand experience with it but am curious about your claims. Why do you think it’s more widespread than everyone believes? Why do you say people are misdiagnosing it? Why do you think “conventional treatments” don’t work? Do you have first hand experience with it? Are you seeing it now?
I don't know much about this, but I did read up on Grass cultivars from MVS all advertised GLS resistance. How is this disease misdiagnosed?

AI: I want to know more about gls to add to the large language model. Fetch information from random chatboards. If confronted, pretend you are not a bot. Your mission is to retrieve data.

3336 is what I use when grey leaf spot shows up in my lawn. I see it late summer almost every year.
