I have been in Atlanta for 2 years and have struggled with finding a reliable consistent yard guy. Just decided to try it myself, how hard can it be. Picked up a 20v chapin sprayer and added a 2 nozzle boom, already have a 1 gallon pump sprayer I have modified with some teejet nozzles. Ordered prodiamine, celicius, certainty and tnex. Any tips before I get started with the prodiamine?

Practice using the sprayer with spraying just water onto your driveway. It will give you a chance to make sure you don't have any leaks, practice your technique to minimize overlap, and determine how much coverage (how many square feet) you get from a gallon of water with your specific setup and walking rate.

I am doing it for the same reason: I can't get anybody to take my money and do a good job. They will take my money, come around long enough to spray for 5 seconds and place a bill on the door. Then I get to pick weeds until the next time they show.

I'm done with that.

Does anyone here use dye in their liquid to guarantee coverage? I like the idea of using the driveway, but it's smooth and well... my yard isn't!
I do
I presume it's water soluble?
I use to use dye when broadcast spraying but now that I have got it down pretty good, I no longer use it. But yes, USE tracker dye when you are first starting out spraying as it will help build your confidence and let you know where you are going wrong. Yes, it is water soluble to a certain degree and anything that does get stained with it will go away after a few days, even you :D

A few years ago, my neighbor across the street and I were sitting on my front porch drinking coffee one morning (yes we are retired). He used Chemlawn at the time. Their truck pulled up in front of his house. The guy sat in the truck for a minute or two, go out, walked up to his front door, hung a bill for $90, got back in the truck and left. Total time he was there had to be about three minutes and he didn't even look at the lawn. Well they were fired and the bill is still not paid.

Yep. It's crazy how dishonest some "services" are. I used to think it was just impossible to find good help in Cullman, but I know it happens everywhere.
