I'm not sure what else it could be other than a Fungus. We've been really warm, but we've been dry. So, I don't know. Interested to see what this cold weather does to it.
There are several yards in my neighborhood that have it as well.
That's been my assumption as well. I just don't know what kind of fungus. It is kind of strange that I am seeing it on so many lawns around the same time.
I don't plan to treat it. I'm just kind of pushing it out of my mind and hoping that the winter takes care of it.
Social port - I don't see anything concerning in your images.
Micahp - your images look a bit concerning. Is this in one area / patch or all over? I would look into brown patch. Try using this website to help to id the problem. http://turfdiseaseid.ncsu.edu/Default.aspx
Is the enviroment is right a fungus could in December too.
It's in a few areas. The picture I posted is along a sidewalk. The affected grass spans the entire length of the side walk. There are also a few areas in the main yard that are affectd.
My guess is that it is a fungus. Our temperatures have really fallen. We were in the mid/upper 60's on Tuesday(and were that warm for a few weeks). We don't get out of the 40's except fro one day in the next 7 -10 days. So, hopefully this will not expand any further.
I've got the same thing going on. I'm going to wait till this cold snap is over, and decide then what to do. Last thing i want is a fungus problem lingering around all winter.
