Came home to .87" in the rain gauge! Still raining. Went out with a flash light. Very minimal peat moss movement. I threw some seed down as a precaution. I could have sworn I saw a few grass babies at day 4. It's possible.

Glad to see I’m not the only one in the area fully renovating their front lawn. Hope you’re having better luck than I am. I put my seed down the weekend before you and was hit with last tue sudden rain storm and had really bad washout. And then reseeded this morning when forecast changed to “light rain” and hit with another storm and now washout again. Lol I maybe shoulda kept my old lawn. This full Reno business is alot of work.

There's still time to fix it. It wasn't supposed to rain like that last night. I skipped the 7pm irrigation thinking it would be a light rain then boom. Sunday and Monday calls is predicting more rain, hopefully not a thunderstorm.

Going out this afternoon to do a more thorough walk thru.

One spot has lift off! Zoom in to see grass babies. I won't call it 1 DAG just yet but it is 5 DAS.

I did not pre-germinate. Remember, I am lazy.

It does that's just fluff something for us to get excited about
It's a nice reminder of what's to come. From this morning to an hour ago I noticed more areas with sporadic popping up of grass babies. The next few weeks are going to drag.

DAS: 6 DAG: 0 today is day 1. Seeing baby grass pop up in any area visible from the cement or flowerbed. Along the driveway and next to the flowerbed is still slow going.

Also of note, when I let my dog outside at 6:30 this morning, I didnt see any mycelium or anything of concern disease wise.

After the 5pm cycle ran, I saw storm clouds. It wasn't supposed to rain until late tonight going into tomorrow. Threw a handful of seed down in an area where I haven't seen anything pop up, probably washed away. Intense rain coming around 9pm. Fingers crossed. At least half the lawn has germination at this point. No more seed until I get to 3 weeks after seed down and evaluating.

Jeff what was the brand name on the green pellets you used if you don’t mind? Assuming it is some type of hydro mulch pellet.
Lesco Seed Starter 3 mulch with tackifier. These will decompose by the end of the season or once I start mowing, depending how heavy I throw down. It's a 50lb bag I got from Site One. I've had this bag since 2022.
