Could use some help with planning for an overhaul on a foundation flowerbed.
Background: I have slowly been redoing landscaping where budget would allow and I am located in Zone 5b and the flower beds are south facing. When we moved in there was a mix of rubber mulch and mis-match of plants.
Section 1 Redo: Plan to keep the following plants (in order left to right) Quick fire Hydrengia, White Spirea, Wine and Rose Hydrengea, Whire Spirea. I was thinking of expanding the edge of the flower bed out more to get a better flow from the sidewalk. Leaning towards planting purple\blue\pink Salvia with Yellow\Organge Coneflowers mixed in. Any thoughts or recommendations on this approach?
Section 2: In addition I am looking to start right scratch on the flower bed on oppsite side of the sidewalk and I have no idea where to start. Exsisting here is a i believe a single box shrub and a single pink hydregna. Do I need to match the flowers on the opposite flower bed? Any recommendations on what to plant and layout would be greatly appriciated.
