Hello all,

Few months ago I bought a house with a few small lawns. They were in terrible conditions. I sprayed everything with RoundUp and waited 3 weeks. After seeding this happened... I got the most expensive grass seed in the store for sunny areas. The seeds are still not germinating and more than 30 days have passed. Most of them are just staying on the ground. The temperatures here have been between 10-20C (50-70F) for the past few weeks. I water them every day. What am I doing wrong and what is that on my lawn?

If I had to guess, I'd say it's crabgrass, and loads of it. You need to do a couple of rounds of RoundUp on your lawn to reduce the amount of weeds that are going to try to germinate at the same time that you are trying to grow your seedlings. I'm guessing that the majority of your seedlings got crowded out by the faster growing weeds.
