Hello All,

We recently purchased our first house and I seem to have inherited a rather sad example of centipede lawn. Lots of weeds and in some areas around oak trees there are large mushy looking mushrooms. From a distance they looked like horse manure. Anyway, looking to learn a lot this fall/winter so that I can begin to rejuvenate this lawn come spring/summer. I take it it's already too late in the year to do anything with it.

Thanks for having me.

Kind Regards,

Outlander

Welcome to TLF!!! Just a heads up, there aren't a lot of Centipede lawn on here but we will try our best to help you out and get your lawn whipped into shape.

For the basics, Centipede only requires 1-2 lbs of Nitrogen/K per season, it also requires Potassium(K) too but it does NOT like Phosphorus or Lime and prefers a low pH soil. Keep it mowed between 1-2" and make sure it gets plenty of water. Centipede is a very SLOW spreader but it will eventually fill in bare spots over time. If you are wanting a quicker fix, you may want to go buy some squares of sod to help it along.

Please feel free to ask any questions you might have as we are all here to help.
