Hello,

I have some patches of what I guess is fine fescue in my TTTF lawn. These blades are much thinner and "finer". These patches also tend to appear more brown and don't do as well as the other TTTF around it. How do I get rid of them? Do I just have to round them up and weed wack them down followed by some seed or is there a better way?

Thanks.

You have to kill it when it's not dormant. Creeping red around here goes dormant in the spring and doesn't green up until October. It doesn't work to try to kill it when it's brown. I ended up digging up the brown clumps in the section of the yard where they were. Hardly any roots so it was easily to scrape up with as trowel. The rhizomes are what enable it to survive so well.
