So my fescue was looking rough then we got hit with really cold days and some snow for a week. Now it is all brown.
I'm attaching a pic of some fescue/rye that I planted in a pot. It was really green then turned brown in a week. Whole yard looks that way. Tired of fescue!
Happens almost every Winter here in the North, regardless of the grass type. Unfortunately, I think you're stuck with Fescue. You could try Warm Season, like Zoysia, but that would go even browner in the Winter.
I've never had it turn brown like that over winter. It usually stays pretty green so I got worried. Good to know it's common further up North. I just really did not want it to be the case where I was going to have even more bare spots from it this spring. Thanks.
No I didn't notice that. I noticed it getting more brown, then we had a huge amount of snow and when it melted, it was completely brown with a little brown poking through. I feel like I have Bermuda.
