In my experiencing Fertilizing after 2 mows or 2 weeks after germination. Spoon feeding is best. The seedlings have what they need for the first 2 weeks or 2 mows as far as nutrients. Biggest thing is keeping the seeds moist and have a watering schedule. Spoon feed 1 x week or 1x every 2 weeks. No need for a full rate. You don’t really want to fertilize if you’re overseeding before seed down. The existing grass will grow and shade the seedlings and outcompete
