So, I've been lurking and reading for a while now. Tons of info here!!! I am in the midst of a fairly large reno(11,000 sq.ft.). At the same time I will be overseeding a portion of the lawn as well. I've read differing opinions on this, but what should be my fertilizer schedule after seed down?

My plan for the reno:
2 applications of Glysophate - completed
Seed down will be mid September - TTF.
I will slit seed the reno
Aerate and broadcast on the rest
Starter fert with Tenacity(Scotts Starter)
water water water

When should I fertilize after seed down? Can I go ahead and put an application of Milo down now(on the over seed area) in preparation for seeding?

Thanks in advance

If you have the starter fertilizer and are following the instructions, I'd wait for Milorganite until after three mows.

Milo needs microbes to break it down in order to release the nitrogen. Slowly. Will microbes still be alive in Tennessee after the third mow and before winter slows them down?

I can't say for sure, but I tend to agree with BXMurphy.
I'm not sure why you would want to put Milo down at this time.
You are about 15 days out from your seeding. I say hold on the Milo. That Scott's starter fert will give you a nice nitrogen dose at seed down.

Thanks or the info. We should have growth on into November in my part of TN. I'm thinking, Milo around Halloween and call it a year. That will help get it through the early part of the winter.
