Fertilizer after Fall Overseeding

3 weeks ago (October 5th), I started my Fall overseed with Super Turf II LS Tall Fescue-Bluegrass Blend. I cut low, dethatched, aerated, and overseeded. I did not use any pre-emergent or starter fertilizer at seeding.

So far the seeds are germinating well and I am seeing good grass seedlings everywhere. I am waiting another week or so for the first cut.

My question is since I did not apply any fertilizer at overseeding, should I apply fertilizer after the first cut? Also, what would be a good fertilizer to apply if I wanted to use a liquid fertilizer, or should I apply a granular fertilizer?

I'm a big fan of holding out on fertilizer during a overseed you want to make sure all your KBG has germinated. You don't want to drop fertilizer to early it will make your existing grass grow and out compete your new baby grass. Wait until 2nd cut no later because you probably getting close to your average first frost.
