Just a thought... as the yard dies in my transition area, seems like a perfect time to scalp, aerate, smooth the lawn. Heavily over seed with rye? I understand quickly growing in the heat, bermuda is the best. Trying to avoid wasting the short season.

I think it might be too late to Seed Rye if the Bermuda is dormant, no? I guess once it slows down in the mid-late fall you could start. I'm interested in following a winter rye over seeding!
Timing would be crucial. This summer is kinda of a wash. Out of town again in a week for a week. A fall leveling, seemed like option.
