Totally agree. DEF is the way to go for smaller lawns.

However, I don't think I would apply that much N in one shot with DEF. I might recommend 0.25 to 0.5 lb of N per 1,000 sq ft for your first application and see how that works. You can always apply more in 2 weeks, but you can't unburn grass. If you apply 0.25 lbs the first time, you could probably apply another 0.25 lbs in a week.

687 mL = 23.2 fl oz = 0.73 quart of DEF is equivalent to 0.25 lb of N

1,374 mL = 46.4 fl oz = 1.45 quarts of DEF is equivalent to 0.5 lb of N.

For the 0.5 lb N per 1,000 sq ft, you would add the 1.45 quarts of DEF to a gallon of water and spray it on your lawn and water it in with at at least half an inch of water.
