Hey, I need help with my Empire Zoysia. I think its a fungus as I cannot see any bug damage. I'm just a hobbist, I have no background in turf mangement. Please see photos.

I put down about 1/2 to 3/4 of water as needed. Last Fert. on second week of April with 18-0-18. I am just trying to fix my turf concern prior to covering for weeds. Could this be out of control dollar Spot?

I have heard about Tuttle Mealybug but can not find any waxy residue to say my life. (New bug in my area)

I seems like it has rained here daily for the last 2 weeks. Grass looks like its in a drought but has gotten plenty of water. I can pull on the grass and have to tear at it to come up and there is no foul smell.

I practice preventative mantance by cutting low just as it greens up and remove old thatch to prevent issues. Currently, its at 2 inches with rotary mower mowed just yesterday.

Thanks for all your help.

I have Empire as well and that looks like fungus. I had some spots like that last year and just sprayed it with some Immunox I had on hand. I'm sure there is better stuff, but it was cheap and controls bugs and fungus. Picked it up at Home Depot

Gregau33:

Took you advice and sprayed Immunox today. Just wish I had a jump on this. I am in the treating phase rather than prevention phase.

Didn't see any information on "rain proof" as it will rain today, again......

I did luck out though by having about 3 hours before it started to drizzle.

Anyone know how soon I will see improvement?

Thanks!!

Unfortunately I have learned that I need an improved spraying devlivery system. Using a 3 gallon spot sprayer is a lot of pumping and spraying. Trouble is I really have no idea of "rates" of product are being put down.

I have just a touch over 12000 sq. Ft of lawn. Love the sprayer that sits in your spreader. Dreaming.....😔
