My 2019 Ego mower battery is stuck in the mower. The battery compartment is pretty much enclosed and I can't get the button to pop the battery up. Any help is appreciated.

I purchased the 10Ah battery for my EGO push mower. The battery is big and fit extremely snugly in the compartment. I was not able to extract the battery afterward. There was nothing to grab onto to get the proper force to extract the battery. Here is the trick that I used. I loosened the four screws on top of the battery just enough so the top would open a crack. Then I was able to fit a thin screwdriver in the crack. I leveraged the battery out against a scrap 2x4 so that I would not damage the plastic of the mower.

Did you leave the battery in the mower over the winter in an unheated area? Maybe the battery has expanded and is wedged in there?

Did you press down on the top of the battery then press the button? Maybe smack it with a rubber mallet see if that will help.

Lots of post in the internet about them going bad.

I am finding it increasingly difficult to release the batteries from my snow blower and hand-held blower. Once I flip the switch, the battery will come out easily, but it is getting tougher to flip the switch. Can the switches be lubricated or serviced in some way to make this easier?

I have this issue but my release button broke and the battery is stuck. I see replacement parts but no instructions on how to replace it. I can unscrew all the screws but the battery “rails” are holding it together and I can’t open the case or remove the battery.

Grip is the answer, since you cannot get a good grip on the battery or have enough strength in your fingers (unless you’re a shaolin with specialized training in retrieving jammed ego batteries), (1) tape the plastic opening on the mower back with painters tape to keep it out of your way (2) attach 2 clamps onto the battery (3) have someone push down on the battery release with a 3’ 1x1 (so that their fingers are salvaged) (4) pull upwards straight with the clamp in hand. (5) use nothing bigger then a 5ah next time. Each mower has specific instructions on which size battery is optimum to use. Hope this helped.

I broke my battery release button and now the battery is stuck on my blower. Any luck finding out how to replace it? I see parts all over the internet but no instructions.
