So managed to run an experiment unintentionally. Have been traveling way too much for work (at one point earlier this month was gone three straight months). Knew that I wasn't going to be able to cut often enough, even at my "tall" height of 1.75" that I cut at w/my rotary. Before I left on this series of trips, I thought maybe I"d take the Celebration back really low to prevent scalping when I got back (I was home ebtween each trip, but mowing frequency was going to be at best every 5 days). I started scalping, but ended up not having enough time. So basically scalped a small portion of the yard, the rest was cut at the normal height.
Over the several weeks since, the scalped portion has recovered. When I cut earlier this week, the difference in color/feel of the portion I scalped was so much better than the rest. Goes to show for those of you like me, who are new, the importance of mowing frequently enough to not take off all leaf growth. Picture below to demonstrate between the two sections.
