Since watering your lawn during the hot summer days cools your lawn and prevents it from going dormant. Will watering in early spring prevent lawn from coming out of dormancy? Should I wait until completely out of dormancy before watering?
I wouldn't worry too much about watering in the spring unless you put seed down. I put seed in, in a couple of spots and water it by hand a couple times. Usually the cooler weather and rain of spring do the rest. That's for me in Nebraska though. We're getting rain 3-4 times a week currently. Not sure about Rhode Island, it might speed you up out of dormancy.
