Hello,

I have some nice thick and green KBG grass going and have just mowed the first time this season (after finally having my blades sharpened nicely).

I've been manually pulling out all the dandelions (that my lazy neighbor's entire lawn is covered with) and I think I have them all. I do have some quackgrass that I have been slowly and sadistically poisoning with Roundoup (wiping it gently on its leaves).

However, I DID mow over quite a bit of quackgrass (and maybe a hidden dandelion or two that I may have missed).

Does mowing over quackgrass or dandelion cause their seeds to spread?

I assume NO for quackgrass, since it's just blades of grass...but I assume YES for dandelions as the seeds are probably in the head of the weed and could be spread while mulching.

Quack, probably not with mowing but yes with physical aeration or dethatching, but it spreads on its own anyway. For danelions, a preemergent will take care of them or use a post emergent if they are around. They are easy to take care of. I wouldn't be concerned. Quack isn't easy to kill though.
