I came home from work this morning and found this. I am not sure what it is. I thought it may be where the neighbors dog peed in it or maybe a fungus of sorts. I'm not sure but any help would be appreciated.

Looks like ascochyta leaf blight.

Thanks for all the help guys. I think I might try to get a fungicide this weekend.

Could be Dollar Spot. If that's all you have I wouldn't even bother with a fungicide. Just bag mow over that area.

Not ruling out a fungus but did you by chance leave your mower running for an extended period of time there? For some reason on my rider the exhaust points slightly towards the ground. If I leave it running in the same spot for 20-30 seconds the next day the tips of my grass look like that.

Thanks guys, I don't recall leaving the mower there an extended amount of time. I bagged the grass today when I mowed as well. I've read that it may be a good idea to dethatch the area and aerate, what do you think?
