Good find! That stuff is normally $30 a jug. I wouldn't use it now since we're in the hottest part of the year. Wait until early fall when the temps cool off. Apply about 4 to 5 ounces per 1k and add in a little surfactant. Your fescue should turn several shades darker within 24 to 48 hours.

I picked up a jug of this over the weekend and it was marked down to $5 so even though I had no idea what it was I could not pass on it. Should and how would I apply this?

For an iron application in cool season turf, shoot for an initial application rate of around 0.2 oz actual iron max per 1,000 (you can increase after you see how the turf reacts). A rate of around 3 or 4 fl. oz. of that stuff at 6% iron is close enough to that guideline. The N content using a 3 or 4 oz. rate would be around roughly a half ounce N per 1,000 - basically insignificant to the soil but should green up the turf a bit when applied to foliage and help the iron uptake. Combined, it should green up turf very nicely.

I think you found a bargain there!
